I am Cdr. Vreshon Suthek, Commanding Officer of the USS Zheng He (NCC-81600).
The Zheng He is a Drake class starship, the first one in Obsidian Fleet. She was commissioned three months ago and we are her first crew.

Zheng He was a Chinese mariner in the turn of the 14th and 15th century. He led several expeditions to India, Persia and the African coast. He was a diplomat, as well as a military leader, he did not fear to impress anyone with his army's might, but he mostly loved peaceful solutions. He was generous with foreigners, giving away valuable gifts for a few unseen objects and animals.
His missions showed impressive demonstrations of organizational capability and technological might.

The starship named after him is a deep-space explorer/surveyor and also intends to achieve great goals. Like her bigger sisters, the Daystrom class starships she was designed for scientific missions. She is not combat-oriented but can stand her ground even against multiple foes. She has reinforced hull plaiting to conduct scientific surveys in hostile environments where normal shielding would be useless.

Planetary surveys, cataloging spacial phenomena and exploration of unknown territories just beyond the borders of the United Federation Of Planets are our primary objectives.

We intend to form a group of friends who will stay together for a long time...
